Costanza Pepini
Viola
Costanza Pepini began studying the violin at the age of six with Elizabeth Graham and later took up the viola under the guidance of Kaethe Shore at the Scuola di Musica del Trasimeno. She subsequently studied with Bruno Giuranna at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona, with whom she took part in the 2014 Omaggio a Cremona project, working alongside Salvatore Accardo on a chamber music programme.
A founding member of the Ascanio Quartet, Costanza enjoys an active concert career with the ensemble, which has been invited to perform at prestigious festivals throughout Italy and abroad, collaborating with internationally renowned artists. In 2021, the Ascanio Quartet released a recording for Dynamic Records devoted entirely to previously unpublished string quartets by nineteenth-century Genoese composers.
In 2017, together with Daniele Ruzza and Pietro Nappi, she founded the Farnese Trio, with which she has since pursued an active concert career.
She has also collaborated with the Orchestra da Camera del Trasimeno, Gli Archi del Cherubino (L’Aquila), the Accademia di Pinerolo Chamber Orchestra (Turin), Salvatore Accardo’s Orchestra da Camera Italiana, the Orchestra Giovanile di Sondrio, I Pomeriggi Musicali, the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro alla Scala, I Concertisti della Scala, and the Orchestra of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
In March 2024, she won the audition for the position of section viola with the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio di Torino.
